Moving Resources: The Basics

Hourly Minimum

Broad Street Movers charges by the hour with a 2-hour minimum on all jobs with the following exceptions.  The last few and first few days of each month as well as weekend days are subject to a 3-hour minimum.  After the hourly minimum, we then prorate by the quarter hour.  We accept payment in either cash or credit card. There is an additional 2.75% fee on credit card payments. We do not accept personal checks.

Hourly rate

The hourly rate includes a team of 3 movers, the truck, equipment, and insurance.  In order to determine the hourly rate please tell us if the move consists of elevators or steps. The rate increases with the number of flights of steps. The equipment includes moving pads, tape, shrink wrap, dollies, tools, and hand trucks.  It does not include boxes or packing supplies.

Travel time and Fuel Surcharge

Travel time is the amount of time to get to the starting location from our lot in Philadelphia and / or the amount of time it takes to get back to our lot from the ending location.  Travel time is billed at the same hourly rate as your move. A fuel surcharge is a one-time charge based on the distance travelled for the move

Tolls

The customer is responsible for any tolls that are incurred during the entire job. The toll for the truck coming back into Philadelphia from New Jersey is $15.

Timing

We typically do two moves a day; one in the morning and another in the afternoon.

The afternoon job tentatively begins between 12 pm and 4 pm.  However, we do not make any guarantees.  Your moving team will call you around noon with an updated time of arrival.
